Position Summary

Responsible for the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance of all equipment and to support the maintenance group

Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Provides maintenance resource to the entire plant.

  2. Utilizes equipment manuals, analytical skills and test equipment to identify which of the following is the root-cause for an equipment problem: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic

  3. Disassembles and repairs hydraulic and pneumatic valves and cylinders.

  4. Starts/ Stops all equipment, identifies machine cycle and sequence of operation as required.

  5. Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment, with limited support.

  6. Uses hand tools, measurement devices (micrometers, calipers, etc) and shop equipment to repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment

  7. Ability to drive forklift truck equipment.

  8. Performs training and related job duties as assigned

  9. Provides Electrician/Machinist resource to the entire plant.

  10. Organizes, controls inventory for electrical/tooling parts and maintains records.

  11. Improves and maintains plant equipment.

  12. Interfaces with electrical/tooling vendors to locate cost-effective suppliers.

  13. Maintains PLC setup and operation.

  14. Read hydraulic and pneumatic prints with demonstrated comprehension.

  15. Leads and performs troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic problems.

  16. Leads/performs rebuilding of hydraulic and pneumatic components.

  17. Can monitor and verify hydraulic pressures to manufacturer specifications.

  18. Supply Technical Leadership to Maintenance Team

  19. Be proactive in determining technical needs of team members

  20. Develop written procedures and instructions as necessary

  21. Maintain work orders in automated software system

  22. Monitor maintenance activities to minimize downtime

  23. Review, follow up, and track changeover schedules and efficiencies

Qualification Requirements

  1. Must have good math skills. Able to add, subtract, divide, multiply decimals and weight grams.

  2. Able to read; must be able to read English text, blueprints. Write, speak and understand English directions/instructions.

  3. Writing skills required. Must be able to communicate in writing with all levels of organization in English.

  4. Degree and or Certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  5. Three or more years as a maintenance mechanic/machinist in an industrial environment with three years electrical experience. Experience with Nissei, Husky, Bekum, SIPA, Sidel, or AOKI equipment is preferred.

  6. Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Explorer)
