Under the direction of a radiologist, the CT Technologist performs diagnostic computerized tomography examinations accurately, independently, and efficiently.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of formal specific training in an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program.
Satisfactory completion of a formal cross sectional anatomy class and a formal CT instrumentation class (must complete classes within 2 years of hire).
Requires completion of NWH (in-house) venipuncture training before contrast injections are performed.
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Requires certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R). OR: board eligible graduate from an accredited institution. Certification required within 3 months of hire.
Advanced Registry in the modality within 12 months of hire date
CPR or BLS is required, must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Requires 24 CME credits every two years.
Requires completion of NWH (in-house) venipuncture certification before contrast injections are performed.
Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit/department.
Demonstrated venipuncture skills for administration of ionic and non ionic contrast material.
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI physics and principles.
Minimum of 1 year radiology experience, preferably in an acute care hospital environment preferred.
Prior CT experience preferred.
Able to position patients in a safe manner and stock supplies.
Able to move freely about the department and hospital.
Able to differentiate color, preferred.
