This Redmond-based role will be a key player in helping to drive diversity and inclusion for Microsoft while partnering with professionals in HR, Office of the CEO, and Corporate Communications teams across Microsoft. In addition, this person will play a key role in company-wide programmatic efforts, rollouts, internal stakeholder liaison, messaging, and key events (all-hands, employee engagement programs, and Q&As).
Key responsibilities include:
Partner with Corporate Communications to drive integrated D&I plans to promote Microsoft’s global diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives, (external events, Employee Resource Groups, etc.) both internally and externally
Collaborate with Chief Human Resource Officer’s and Corporate Communication’s/Press Relation’s internal and external communications leads to coordinate communication plans, pillars, and narrative
Align with HR Centers of Excellence and HR Line teams to land programs and associated messaging effectively to employees worldwide, and ensure consistent use, in an integrated and coordinated fashion
Align with leaders on rollout plans for multiple, concurrent, company-wide launches of programs, and initiatives
Collaborate with teams inside the organization and across the company to gather data and content for internal communications and presentations
Work in partnership with corporate communications to research and produce messaging pertaining to D&I, and coordinate deployment via email/other vehicles, forums, etc.
Partner closely with Corporate Communications, the Office of the CEO Communications team, and the Senior Leadership Team communications community to develop communications plans for all-company announcements
Manage creative agencies, development of collateral, and maintain content and appearance of internal and external D&I website
Develops strong metrics to measure ROI and success of key initiatives to determine efficacy of vehicles and engagement.
Qualifications and skills:
BA/BS in HR, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications (or equivalent)
7-10 years HR, communications, public relations, marketing, brand management or executive communications experience. Diversity and inclusion experience a plus
Understanding of Microsoft’s mission, culture, business priorities
Business maturity, confidentiality and experience working with senior executives
Exceptional messaging and writing skills
Know how to leverage multiple channels to land meaningful communications (events, video, social, PR, etc.)
Strong graphic design and multi-media creation skills (PowerPoint, Sway, videos, etc.)
High attention to detail and accuracy in all communications deliverables
Deep cross-group collaboration skills and ability to drive coordination across all levels and stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple communication projects simultaneously and drive strong work-back plans
Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and able to adapt plans and approach real-time
Proactive, self-motivated, and team-oriented
