Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

New software engineer’s role will be in the STNS team to contribute software solutions for Support, Tooling and Ingestion services within DPS.

This position has the unique opportunity to bring out innovation towards problems on support, tools and ingestion services.


  • Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, reliability, scalability, latency, security, resiliency, and efficiency of a service

  • Contribute in debugging, troubleshooting complete stack of a service and drive analysis of an outage; write software and build automation to resolve problems permanently

  • Participate actively in code reviews, bug/issue triages and support well informed decisions towards business and engineering goals

  • Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems; assess design and code changes to drive improvements

  • Conduct periodic on call duties


  1. 5 years of relevant software design and development experience on shipped server products or cloud services.

  2. BS in Computer Science or equivalent

  3. Proven experience of working through the full product cycle from initial design to final product.

  4. Outstanding technical problem solving skills.

  5. Experience writing performance-critical code.

  6. Solid written and verbal communications skills.

  7. Excellent debugging skills required.

  8. A proven track record of shipping quality products on time.

  9. Excellent C#, Angular JS or Java coding skills

  10. Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications.

  11. Capable of technical deep-dives into service design, operating systems, networking, storage, monitoring etc..,
