The Data Product Marketing team is looking for a seasoned product marketer to help further accelerate Azure Cosmos DB explosive growth by help us double down on a growth strategy for ISV and Gaming along with driving the end-to-end core product roadmap and release strategy with engineering. Azure Cosmos DB is the industry’s only multi-model, globally distributed database service that scales to wherever your users are while still guaranteeing <10ms latency. It offers several well-defined consistency models, schema-free development, and rich query capabilities—making it the ideal database for today’s cloud-designed applications.
This product marketing role requires strong business acumen, strategic thinking, cross-group collaboration and storytelling as well as a passion for technology and driving data as a key ingredient in digital transformation. As a Product Marketing Manager you will lead a virtual team across engineering, product marketing, and business planning to develop business strategies and evangelize differentiated messaging and positioning for Azure Cosmos DB innovation—driving a growth engine for the service in gaming and amongst ISVs. Additionally, you will work closely with engineering to influence product roadmaps, effectively brand and position new innovation, and drive awareness, adoption for key product milestones. This role will partner across teams to define a strategy to reach new influencers and audiences as a way to evangelize our Azure Cosmos DB service platform, cross-platform capabilities, and the overall value of the Microsoft data platform.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Deeply understand your customer audience and their needs, market dynamics, competitors and product levers to help grow the data platform business.
Develop competitive insights to deliver the right solutions and messaging to market.
Drive and support product roadmap strategies and disclosures in partnership with engineering, business planning, product marketing, outbound marketing and communications.
Build and validate value propositions, messaging, and guidance for the field, partners, press, and analyst—specifically related to launching new innovation.
Work with field and partner readiness teams to ensure roadmap, value proposition, positioning & messaging is effectively communicated.
Understand adoption of Cosmos DB and customer scenarios for ISV and Gaming—building GTM strategies including messaging and content and driving customer evidence to accelerate growth in these areas.
Partner with Microsoft ISV and Gaming marketing and partner program teams to land Cosmos DB as a key driver for growth in these areas—building targeted content
Inspect and support sales pipeline to ensure healthy growth and opportunity acceleration across ISV and Gaming.
Partner with technical product marketing to deliver the right technical guidance and readiness for Azure Cosmos DB for ISV and Gaming.
Represent the data team on Microsoft event v-teams, ensuring appropriate session allocation, booth presence, and onsite support.
Candidate should have 5+ years of product marketing, product planning, technical product management or program management experience for a technical product. We are looking for a highly motivated, results-driven marketer, who has strong storytelling skills, technical aptitude, leadership skills and business acumen. Candidate must be able to generate high-impact ideas, clearly prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion. Candidate must have a proven ability to work across virtual teams and motivate others within and across Business Groups. This position requires excellent oral and written communications abilities, and strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with technical and business leaders. The candidate should be familiar with database technologies or the developer community. MBA is a plus.
