Role Summary:

The C919 Technical Leader for Systems Engineering & Integrated Verification & Validation. Demonstrate leadership by developing & communicating systems solutions & technical direction for development, integration & certification of avionic subsystems onto aircraft platforms. In the role of C919 Technical Leader, you will utilize your experience & expertise to solve problems, develop & execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term & long-term business goals

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, as the C919 Technical Leader, Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Participate in systems development for avionics solutions for aircraft including:

  • Defining Concept of Operations

  • System Requirements Definition and Management

  • Modeling and Simulation

  • Sub-System and Aircraft Integration

  • Integrated Systems Level Verification

  • Ground and Flight Testing Support

  • Interface with customers, partner companies, suppliers, and other senior leadership within the company

  • Work as part of an Integrated Avionics and Sub-System development team to define, develop, verify and qualify an integrated systems solution for aircraft application

  • Support and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as Systems Safety, Reliability, Maintainability, Integrated Logistics Support and Quality

  • Lead activities such as: failure Investigations, root causes analysis and implementation of corrective actions, lesson learned, issues and design standards updates

  • Lead efforts in aircraft avionics systems integration, verification and validation Provide Engineering support, within one’s area of avionics subject matter expertise, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives

  • Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

  • Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements

  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments

  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

  • Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams

  • Mentor others in the organization

  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and / or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments

  • Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and / or tasks

  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

  • PLEASE NOTE: Work Location listed is Grand Rapids, MI. However, this position may also be eligible at our Clearwater, FL location Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical and / or project leadership experience in Avionics Systems or related Product design and development

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Avionics Systems and sub-systems requirements definition, integration, verification, and qualification

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in dealing with customers and suppliers ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

  • and Integrated Surveillance Systems

  • Experience with ARINC 664, ARINC 661, and ARINC 653 development standards

  • On-board Maintenance Systems and Flight Recorder Systems experience

  • Experience with DO-178B / C, DO-254, DO-297, ARP-4754 certification standards

  • Experience using models to simulate and validate the system design and architecture

  • Familiarity with systems Engineering processes including:

  • Requirements Definition

  • Aircraft Integration

  • Flight Testing

  • System Safety

  • and Requirements Verification

  • Experience in technical and project leadership for large military aircraft programs
