Scope of the Position

This position is key in maintaining and developing retail business in the Northwest region. This position's primary responsibility is to sell, grow and develop Regional Retail Accounts utilizing sector customer value propositions to realize profitable value for Diversey Care while ensuring strong customer value and partnership. The role will lead business development activities within the geographic area. This role will be responsible for managing existing Key Account relationships with customers within the geography as well as growing the business base by selling new accounts. This position must comfortably interface with key decision makers within the customers as well as customer regional operational management. This role will also be responsible for increasing the overall profitability of the current retail businesses. This role will also be responsible for growing innovations in floor care, food safety, housekeeping, technology, and equipment by working with key sector leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Customer Growth Plan: Create a detailed, business plan identifying customer opportunities and profitable sales growth plans for assigned customers and identified prospective accounts. These detailed plans provide the framework for customer retention, growth, and competitive threat mitigation. They encompass Regional Customer Management relations as well as site-specific locations. Must be able to present & communicate Diversey Value Propositions to customer senior management.

  • New Business Development: Present appropriate Diversey Value Propositions to key regional prospects to secure new, profitable business. Will work through selling cycles and negotiations.

  • Provide a consultative approach by looking at ways to improve current programs, bring new innovations and reporting.

  • Remotely navigate with retail customers and develop key relationships for a long-term partnership.

  • Preserve & Grow Existing Business: Collaborate with Retail Leaders and Diversey Care support functions to ensure profitable value propositions. Must drive engagement with customers at all levels to ensure all new & existing needs are understood and all key stakeholders recognize value delivered.

  • Facilitate data collection, interpretation, and benchmarking for retailers.

  • Evaluate opportunities to reduce total overall cost of programs as well as identify efficiency gaps and provide actionable solutions to the customer.

  • Account Management:

  • Provide management of current accounts, daily activities, priorities & manage KPI's to meet the needs of customer expectations regarding service and sales support. Provide needed customer training and support as needed. Contribute to and actively manage Sales funnel - reporting of activity, with sales budgeting, forecasting and expenses.

  • Provide quarterly business reviews.

  • Perform compliance training in the evening to ensure each team is following the program.

  • Preserve & Grow Existing Business: Collaborate with Retail Leaders and Diversey Care support functions to ensure profit & Value Propositions. Must drive engagement with customers at all levels to ensure all new & existing needs are understood and all key stakeholders recognize value delivered.

  • Collaborate with Regional Sector colleagues: Collaborate with Diversey Sector leadership and sales personnel across the NA to ensure effective & consistent delivery of Value Propositions to key customers - including value added services such as training, service, support and supply delivery.

  • Continue to look for new opportunities to strengthen our strategic partnership.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Diploma required (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

  • 3+ years of sales experience

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Ability to travel overnight up to 40%

  • Be able to lift up to 50lb cases of product

Additional qualifications:

  • Proven Business Development experience acquiring complex customers & delivering results

  • Chemical sales experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate at Regional level of organizations, along with ability to sell at operational level.

  • Experience with project management and business planning

  • Demonstrated ability to work with teammates, both direct & indirect teams

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Strong ability to research potential customer leads (prospecting)

  • Industry and sector knowledge

  • Financial acumen

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Strong analytical background

  • Ability to travel and work nights as needed
