You'll be part of a team that thrives from providing top quality food for patients. In this role, you will support our team with a variety of tasks to ensure excellent customer service, quality and safety in providing food and nutritional services at Western State Hospital (WSH) located in Lakewood, WA.

Some of what you will do:

  • Prepare and serve foods according to therapeutic dietary needs, recipes, and menus
  • Kitchen Sanitation, dishwashing and floor cleaning
  • Set-up, load and deliver food and supplies to ward kitchen
  • Comply with and monitor food safety regulations

What we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of kitchen and dining room work, personal hygiene, sanitation and housekeeping practices
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen appliances and equipment
  • Ability to learn routines involved in preparing and serving food according to therapeutic dietary orders, recipes and menus
  • A food handler's permit or ability to obtain permit

Who should apply? Professionals with a food handler's permit or ability to obtain within 14 days of employment and experience working in a food preparation environment is desired.
