Amazon Web Services is looking for a Technical Program Manager for the AWS Reliability program. Amazon is building some of the largest distributed systems in the world and we need great people to help run cross-functional programs that will touch and improve all of them.

The AWS Reliability team is seeking a Technical Program Manager with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to influence business and technical leaders in a dynamic environment, and the desire to be a visible contributor to our operational culture. The candidate should drive continuous process improvement, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional operational and development teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

Specifically, the candidate will help run some of our most critical cross-AWS programs that baseline the entire organization to a high bar for operational excellence and a culture of improving the customer experience. Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large complex cross-functional projects

Interact with leaders and engineers across Amazon to define and deliver complex programs

Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints

Gain consensus on technical decisions and ensure that appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results

Maximize resources for the greater good of the organization

Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels

Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders

Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

Coordinate and drive meetings with senior leadership across the organization

Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical programs or projects

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Comfortable running extremely large and incredibly visible meetings

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field

Strong data analytical skills and proven experience developing and using tools to analyze large data sets to drive decisions

Ability to estimate project cost and return on investment

Track record for managing complex technology projects with aggressive schedules and scarce resources

Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects

Experience with cross geographical project coordination and management

Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals

Proven problem solving skills

Can script your way out of a corner if needed

Basic familiarity with AWS services
