Amazon.com Technical Program Manager (TPM), AmazonSmile in Seattle, Washington

AmazonSmile is an innovative, simple and automatic way for customers to support their favorite charity every time they shop. We're looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager, capable of coordinating teams across Amazon, and aligning roadmaps with our objectives.

In this role you will work closely with stakeholders, software engineers and product managers to drive the building and delivery of complex, high quality, scalable products. You will collaborate with the product teams to deliver the best product with most efficient use of resources and technologies. You will work with all the stakeholders to coordinate project teams, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects by meeting project milestones. You will also assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the customer’s needs versus technical constraints and encourage risk taking behavior to minimize development costs. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail oriented and have excellent problem solving abilities. You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics and continuous process improvement.

  • 2+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry.

  • 3+ years of experience with current web-technologies.

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies, including coordinating and running sprints.

  • The ability to comfortably and confidently present to all levels within the enterprise and to work with both technical and non-technical individuals.

  • A proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.

  • Fluency and comfort with business applications such as Word, Excel and Project.

  • Demonstrated ability for data-driven planning and decision making.

  • Passion to get the right stuff done.
