Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within the Respiratory Care Services department has an outstanding opportunity for aTemporary/Hourly Respiratory Care Practitioner.The duties include but are not limited to:
Initiate, maintain and monitor continuous mechanical ventilation including high frequency ventilation.
Perform certain diagnostic and evaluative procedures, e.g., blood gas interpretation, transcutaneous CO2 monitoring.
Respond to neonatal emergencies as a member of the Code Blue team.
Effectively administer all forms of respiratory therapy including surfactant delivery.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing the affects of respiratory care procedures and alternative procedures.
Assist in high-risk deliveries and transports.
Perform related duties as required.
Competitive candidates will have NRP and NPS credentials.
Requirements:
Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the State of Washington Department of Health OR equivalent education/experience.
Legal Requirement:
Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Washington.
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated NICU experience.
