This position provides oversight of VMMC's credentialing and privileging activities. It is responsible for educating medical staff and senior leadership regarding regulations and processes. This position directs all medical staff administrative functions while managing the daily operations of the department including selection, training, and supervision of 4 support staff.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, CPCS and CPMSM certification or a combination of education, certification and a minimum of ten years in a medical staff services supervisory/managerial role. It is necessary to have an expert knowledge of the TJC and NCQA standards, DOH requirements, and Federal and State regulations. It is required to regularly demonstrate the ability to facilitate and prioritize tasks, work well under complex timelines, and provide oversight of the activities of the Medical Staff Services area.
