Position Title: Hardware Development Engineer II
Location: Seattle, Washington
Work closely with inter-disciplinary engineering, operations and technology deployment teams to design and launch end-end automation systems for order fulfillment, comprising of off the shelf industrial components (Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and industrial robots), and custom or semi-custom components (mechatronics, robotic end-effectors, advanced sensor systems, safety systems, controls, visions systems, and fixtures). Serve as technical lead for key components and subsystems through entire product life cycle. Develop simulations and models of material flows for current and proposed systems to predict overall system performance and validate financial models. Develop complete product documentation including BOMs, DOO, and installation, user, and maintenance manuals. Develop and execute test plans to validate performance of subsystems and analyze impact to full end-end design. Manage technical relationship with vendors to deliver new components or modification to existing components in accordance with required specifications and schedule. Perform hands-on bring-up, testing and troubleshooting. Provide up-to-date, accurate information to colleagues and management.
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or as a Hardware Engineer, Hardware Architect, System Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master’s degree and one year of experience. One year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation must involve: Hands-on experience with system development; design and product integration; familiarity with CAD, Simulation, and simulation environments, Debugging and bring-up of complex systems; and working with international, cross-functional teams.
