Job DescriptionAmazon seeks a Financial Analyst to play a key role on the Kindle Finance team supporting Amazon's Global Independent Publishing business. This role requires a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and skills in business intelligence coupled with business acumen. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, analytical, detail oriented and will possess the ability to work well with cross-functional teams including Amazon retail, finance, and software development teams. Primary responsibilities: Own operating plans, financial forecasting and planning across e-books and p-books within the Indie Publishing business Own, create and maintain weekly/monthly business review reporting decks and drive improvement in financial and operational metrics Perform deep dives on business trends and performance and provide valuable insights to senior leadership Support author acquisition marketing team on metrics, ROI analysis and budgeting Partner with author support teams including Customer Service and Content Risk Management on budgeting, forecasting and development of performance/cost metrics Maintain and drive improvements in unit and program level profit reporting Drive automation of reporting Additionally, there will be opportunities to participate in special projects and ad hoc support in other finance functions. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field 3+ years of relevant finance experience Preferred Qualifications Advanced SQL and Excel skills Knowledge of Cognos and Essbase Strong analytical skills Understanding of the consumer business Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ability to work independently, adjust priorities, and work in a continuously changing environment.
