Harley Marine Services Financial Analyst, Capital Projects in Seattle, Washington

The Capital Projects Financial Analyst will work with the management team to review potential capital expenditure projects for cost efficiencies, track and report on existing project spend, and work to leverage volume across the entire annual capital project budget to identify cost efficiencies.

  • Lead annual corporate capital expenditure budgeting processes

  • Work with project managers and engineers to develop accurate project budgets

  • Review existing and ongoing capital expenditure projects to ensure budget conformity

  • Develop summary reports and metrics to show annual progress in achieving budgetary spend

  • Identify, negotiate, and implement cost saving opportunities through volume discounts with existing and new vendors

  • Ensure project plans and project managers are following the capital expenditure process

  • Maintain awareness of company’s financial position and deliver clear verbal and written explanations of analyses to management that translate into tactical and strategic recommendations

  • Contribute ideas for continued build-out and improvement of the financial planning processes and systems that are in place, with a strong eye toward reliability, continuity and growth

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Four year college education in Business, Accounting, or related studies or equivalent experience.

  • Education and/or work experience in corporate finance and accounting

  • Experience in financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, and business planning

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of oil transportation and marine industry preferred (heavy equipment service industry)

  • Ability to work with all levels of employees using courtesy, tact, and good judgment

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications

  • Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

  • Valid state driver’s license preferred

  • Work with computers, fax machines, copiers, telephones

  • Normal office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday
