          Our Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach.
          Design, develop and deliver comprehensive strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for assigned Intercollegiate Athletic teams with an emphasis in Men’s Basketball. Establish annual testing and performance measures. Teach proper execution, techniques and safety for all lifts and movement drills. Effectively motivate athletes to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of performance. Communicate and work in partnership with athletic trainers to provide an integrated program of injury prevention, reconditioning and performance training. Work cooperatively with the department Nutritionist to develop and deliver a plan addressing performance nutrition issues for assigned teams. Assist with recruiting for each assigned team throughout the year. Implement and enforce all ICA rules, policies and procedures with regard to the Strength and Conditioning department. Assist with other sport programs and the day to day operation of the training facility as required by the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports; Must be flexible to work irregular hours. Must effectively work, write, speak, present and communicate with staff, administrators and other coaches in the athletic department. Must maintain CSCS certification and pursue professional development opportunities throughout the year.

          Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Pac-12 Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

          Requirements:
          Bachelor's degree required in Exercise Science or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) certification through National Strength and Conditioning Association required. Experience with the instruction of all Olympic lifts required. United States Weightlifting Club Coach Certification preferred. Minimum of five years full time coaching experience in the Strength and Conditioning field at a four year college or University. Full time professional coaching experience acceptable.

          Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
