The AI+R organization is tasked to improve our odds of betting on the ‘next big thing’ to help ensure the future of Microsoft.

The Visual Learning, Cognition, and Communications group in Microsoft AI & Research is looking for Researchers/Research Engineers at all levels in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, broadly defined. At this position, you will conduct both fundamental and applied research, build core technologies in machine learning and computer vision, publish your results, prototype and execute, together with engineers, all the way to impact various products in the areas of cloud and edge intelligence, such as Microsoft Cognitive Services and Pix.

Required Qualifications:

• Ph.D.

• At least 5 years of research experience in computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, or AI methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Publications in top-tier conferences and journals in related fields (e.g., CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, SIGGRAPH etc.).

• Strong algorithmic problem solving and software development skills (C/C++, Python, C# etc.).

Ideal candidate would have one or more of the following preferred qualifications:

• Strong cross-group collaboration skills

• Excellent communication and writing skills
