Lacey Parks and Recreation manages three local high school swimming pools: North Thurston, Timberline, and River Ridge. During the non-school hours Lacey Parks and Recreation offers community programming such as swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, open swim and facilitates rentals for private groups. This is a part-time position working approximately 10 to 15 hours per week.
Lifeguards are expected to follow the policies and procedures to maintain patron safety in the facilities.
Swim Instructors are responsible for teaching swim lessons in accordance with the Parks and Recreation Department's Learn to Swim Program.
This is a continuous recruitment and applications will be reviewed on an as-needed-basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lifeguards
Complete accurate reports of rescues, accidents, disciplines, and first-aid treatments.Swim Instructors
Provide and maintain high standards of professionalism and excellent customer service to all program participants and program visitors.
Provide appropriate discipline to class participants. Qualifications: Lifeguards
Must be at least 15 1/2 years old.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification or Water Safety Instructor Aide Certification is highly desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Lifeguards
Ability to respond appropriately to an emergency situation.
Must pass a background investigation.Swim Instructors
